Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some answers to the questions we get asked a lot – but we are always happy to help with any enquiries so please feel free to get in touch if you need some specific answers.

How soon should I book the showers for my event?2026-06-15T21:05:08+01:00

We do get very busy in the summer months so book us as soon as possible, but its always worth asking even if you have a last minute booking.

Is there a minimum or maximum length of hire?2026-06-15T21:05:39+01:00

There is no minimum or maximum hire, if our showers are available then we can accommodate most needs.

Can you deliver the showers anywhere in the country?2026-06-17T17:07:48+01:00

Yes, we are based in Somerset but we will deliver nationwide and internationally. Please note there are additional charges for transport, delivery and collection.

Where can you install the shower units?2026-06-15T21:07:02+01:00

Ideally the site should have good access. The shower units will be delivered by either a 7.5 ton lorry or a 4×4 towing vehicle. The ground should be firm and level but it doesn’t have to be hard standing. If you are worried that your location isn’t ideal then please get in touch and we can discuss the details.

Do we need to make any preparations before you deliver the units?2026-06-15T21:07:48+01:00

You need to do very little! We like to site the showers at least one day before your event starts and if there is a standard 25mm water connection and a 16amp electric feed that will be perfect. We will deliver and install the showers for you and make sure everything is up and running.

Do I need to have a mains water supply on the event site?2026-06-15T21:11:00+01:00

Ideally yes, it’s better (and cheaper) to have mains water on the site. However if there is no water supply it is possible to bring in water tanks, and we can organise and supply water tanks with the showers.

Our water pressure isn’t very good, will this affect the showers?2026-06-15T21:11:53+01:00

All our units have header tanks and a specialist pump system so that your showers have constant great water pressure. If you want to discuss this in more detail then please feel free to call.

What happens to the waste water (grey water)?2026-06-15T21:12:37+01:00

The most cost effective and efficient way to get rid of waste water is via a drain or soak away. If there isn’t one available we can arrange for a bladder tank to be installed on site which would then be emptied by a local waste water company.

Can the waste water go into a river?2026-06-15T21:13:01+01:00

No sorry the waste water cannot go straight in to a river or canal

How much water do the showers use?2026-06-15T22:18:07+01:00

Our showers have specialist water saving shower heads and will use 5 litres of water a minute compared to the industry standard 15 litres of water per minute.

Will the water saving shower heads affect our shower experience?2026-06-15T21:16:54+01:00

Your shower will be the same as a conventional shower. Our specially-designed water saving shower heads apply technology to aerate the water inside the shower heads, this creates turbulence which increases the water pressure and gives a power shower but uses much less water than the industry standard.

How much power do the showers use?2026-06-15T21:17:40+01:00

The showers have gas boilers to heat the water and only use electric to power the pumps and interior lights so they will only draw a maximum or 2kw of power.

Can I use a generator to power the showers?2026-06-15T21:18:00+01:00

Yes its fine to run the showers from a generator, they only draw 2kw of power for the pumps and lights.

Does Posh Wash supply the gas for the showers?2026-06-15T21:18:33+01:00

Yes, each unit is supplied with a 47kg lpg gas cylinder. If you have a very busy event we can supply additional gas but we will have to charge extra for this.

Have you got any shower units that are wheelchair accessible?2026-06-15T21:20:05+01:00

Yes, some of our units have wheelchair accessible cubicles. They have a non-slip ramp with a hand hand rail. Inside the cubicle there is plenty of room for a wheelchair and a carer, each unit has a specially designed folding shower chair, non slip floor, handrails, sink and mirror.

We are running a big event, can you supply support staff for the showers?2026-06-15T21:21:23+01:00

When our showers are installed at a festival or large sporting event we always recommend having one of our shower technicians and cleaners onsite (there is an additional fee for this)

Can you keep the showers clean for us during the event?2026-06-15T21:22:07+01:00

Yes, it’s a great idea to have our cleaners onsite, they will ensure that the showers are squeegeed after each use and continually cleaned throughout the day (there is an additional fee for this).

We are having a party/wedding, who will look after the showers?2026-06-15T21:22:36+01:00

If you are just hiring one unit from us then you probably won’t need a cleaner but if you have any problems (unlikely) then you can call us and we will have a technician with you in a jiffy.

Can you supply shower gel and shampoo?2026-06-15T21:23:16+01:00

Yes, we can supply products (there is an additional charge for this).

I’m coming to a festival and know that Posh Wash will be doing the showers, will you be open all night?2026-06-15T21:24:48+01:00

If our crew are operating the showers on site, we tend to have opening times for the showers, usually 7am til 7pm, but these times are negotiable, depending on the event.

What do Posh Wash do to reduce their environmental impact?2026-06-15T22:09:05+01:00
  • We only use 100% biodegradable plant-based products to clean our showers.
  • We use water saving technology at its best. Our aerated turbo shower heads use less than 1/3 of the water that a standard shower head uses.
  • Our aerated turbo shower heads use less than 5 litres per minute whereas industry standard shower heads use a whopping 15 litres of water a minute (that’s more than 26 pints every minute!)
  • All our units are fitted with led lights which draw very little power
What is your minimum charge period for hire?2026-07-06T13:18:59+01:00

The minimum charge for hire is one week.
